Oh, Lord where has the time gone…

June 19th, 2008

I didn’t realize it had been so long since I posted last. I fell this past November and broke my knee (and hurt my back) so I’ve been going through PT since February. Life has been a little crazy, especially with the kids, but I’m back in the swing of things I think now. I’ve got WeWriteRomance.com going strong and updating it regularly. I’ve also been doing a lot of new websites for some fabulous authors like Margaret Mayo, Michelle Reid, and my latest, Chantelle Shaw. It has been so welcoming to have these sites to focus on as writing has elluded me on the medicines I’ve had to take for my back.

I’ve also attended the Lori Foster & Dianne Castell Get Together just a few weeks ago. It was wonderful. I hadn’t been able to attend in the past, but I will definitely be doing it again. They have a very open program that allows you to visit with readers and writers a lot! It also is a great way to meet up with old friends. Well, not old as in aged friends, but you know what I mean.

Michelle B. from LifetimeTV.com was there, as well as many other industry professionals. If you’re looking to network, it’s a great place. But more than that, it’s a great place to find new authors to read! I met the wonderful, Heather Grothaus. She’s an absolute doll, and I can’t wait to have the chance to see her again.

Well, I’m off to work on some more updates, but I’ll try (I know, I know, I’ve said that before haven’t I?) to update the blog more often.

Take care,
Heather R.

p.s. Be sure to visit WeWriteRomance.com soon to see what’s up there!

MSNBC Poll - SUPPORT ROMANCE, VOTE!

June 19th, 2008

MSNBC has a poll set up to vote for whether or not you read romance novels. While they call them the stereo-typical ‘boddice rippers’, don’t be offended…still vote. I think any reconigition for the industry from such a source as this can only show that we support romance.

Vote here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25195786/

Weekend here at last!

February 29th, 2008

I’m ready for the weekend, but it won’t be a restful one. I’ve got the big T to do! I know lots of people, well, everyone, has or should be doing theirs this time of year, but that doesn’t mean I like it!

Taxes take up so much time…why? And why do we dread it so much?

I’m guessing the reason to be procrastination. Like I talked about in a previous post, whether you admit it or not, if you put things off you procrastinate. And while I don’t do it with everything, taxes seems to be the one thing I push the deadline on…sometimes. ;-) Othertimes, I’m the first one done in my family.

Well, off to work on the big T.

Later,
Heather R.

Interesting Sites

February 27th, 2008

I enjoy surfing the web sometimes. I like finding neat sites. I also think it’s nice to share it with your friends! So here’s a few that you might find interesting:

Nora Roberts Books - this is a fan site that lists all of Nora’s books

CrazyforPuzzles - if you like puzzles, this is a fund place to surf around

Home Management Tips - this is a neat place that gives some very useful tips

Perpetual Procrastination - this is a crazy place that deals with what we all (either admit or deny but ultimately have!) a problem with putting things off!

I’ll see what else I can come up with to share…

Until then,

WeWriteRomance.com has relaunched!

February 27th, 2008

Hi!

I wanted to take a minute to let you know that WWR has relaunched! I’m so excited. I was able to line up some great interviews, including one with the wonderful Lucy Monroe and one with the awesomely talented Kate Walker! They’re both great authors and you’ll be interested to find out what’s new with them.

You can find their interviews here: http://www.wewriteromance.com/interviews/

You’ll also find that WWR has some new programs in the works for both readers and writers. The author sponsorship program is in full force with many of the same great authors as before, as well as many more new ones, like Margaret Mayo and Leanne Tyler.

Besides relaunching WWR this month, I’ve been busy submitting my most recently written manuscripts. Life’s crazy…but oh, so worth it! :-)

I hope you’ll take time to visit WWR…there’s more coming there. And with the new year I’m planning to do more than ever with the sites I’m working on (WWR, this one, and a few more).

Later,
Heather R.

Thanksgiving countdown!

November 12th, 2007

FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!

I’m in love with the holiday season. You get the fall colors, Christmas colors, scents across the board, and don’t forget the FOOD! What a great time of year. Unfortunately, the weight gain possibilities are way too tempting!

Anywho, it’s only a week and four (4) days away!

WeWriteRomance.com to relaunch in 2008!

November 8th, 2007

Since I’ve taken over running WWR (WeWriteRomance.com) by myself back in early Summer, I’ve been trying to revamp the site. This is in addition to writing (when I get a moment to breath!), learning to raise two wonderful children (including one baby born in January), run a website design business (WWR Designs - http://www.wewriteromance.com/design/), and get our house ready to move about an hour and a half away from where we are now. I’ve decided that I absolutely love the site and really miss having other authors involved, so…

I’ve decided to relaunch the site with a bit of a new look, new outlook, and new author link program!

I hope everyone who’s here will take a moment to stop by and take a look. I’d love to hear what you think about what’s to come.

Take care,
Heather R.

Cool new Amazon feature…downloads!

November 6th, 2007

Here’s something cool I found at Amazon…you can now download individual television episodes or you can download movies. How cool is that? If you miss one, you can find it and download it.

Heroes

Eureka

Bionic Woman

There are tons more, but these are a few of my favorites! :-)

Halloween…candy, candy, candy

November 2nd, 2007

I can’t believe the amount of candy kids get these days. When I was a kid we got a lot, but now…wow! And when did they start handing out whole candy bars? I can’t let my little one eat a whole one of those or we’d probably be up for days.

And what’s with every town having a pumpkin or boo fest and not getting ALL the merchants (or at least a few????) to participate. I believe next year we’ll have our own party or something. We could set up a lawn mower with a little trailer and add some hay and make the kids just as happy with a hayride than going out and dealing with the crazy mess of a “town” organized event.

Is it just my town or is it every town?

(who is off to sort candy … and find a whole bar, LOL!)
